Just found out why Noble backtracked believe it or not pressure from the retailers !!

This is a drop in the ocean what about the other millions of profits that has been stolen off the hard working producers in 12 months leaving many virtually bankrupt. It looks like the tide could be beginning to turn. Every egg producer needs to start taking action against these immoral measures imposed on them by these packer.

could it be that supermarkets mindful of the tightning in the supply are once again effectively subsidising to encourage more producers back to the industry which in turn will create an oversupply. Some packers are promising a price rise, I suspect Nobles are going for compensation so they dont have to change their price structure after the peak in demand during the run up to Christmas subsides. The reality is that long term there is still too much egg in production and if farmers rush once again filling their sheds on the back of a small price rise or compensation as in this case the shortage will fast become a glut and supermarkets get their money returned many many times over. Compensation, price rise, call it what you will, it gets passed from packer to producer only to ensure that they will never have to pay more than the minimum for the product.

Well it looks to me like the early depletion has been found to be illegal and they are now realising this.
Why else would they backtrack, David Cameron and Nick Clegg would be proud of this U turn.
This is of little help to the producers who are now out of business because of the early depletion.
