Your
Guarantee
There are two codes of practice which protect the
well being of the hens and the safety and freshness
of the eggs you buy. Freedom Food is the RSPCA seal
of approval that sets strict requirements for the
way the hens are kept. It covers everything from the
numbers in the hen house to the amount of space they
must be given in their nest boxes. The Lion Brand,
as well as setting down welfare standards also ensures
compliance with strict requirements on freshness and
food safety. For example, all eggs marketed under
the Lion are laid by hens that have been vaccinated
against salmonella.
Many
of Britain’s leading free range farmers are
members of BFREPA, the British Free Range Egg Producers
Association. We believe that our free range farming
methods are the best in the world and we are proud
of the way our flocks are kept and the quality of
the eggs they produce. If you would like more information,
please contact vice-chairman John Widdowson at john@jwegg.freeserve.co.uk
